More towards the end of his career, Mondrian began experimenting with abstract rectangular shapes. It was a completely new style that made him instantly recognized throughout the world. Don't be fooled by the painting though. These are not just primary colors only. Each segment is comprised of multiple colors, blended together, as can be seen from the detailed photo's.
The original painting by Mondrian is in the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome, Itlay.
Piet Mondrian (Mondriaan in Dutch) was born in Amersfoort, a small town in Holland. Although Mondrians work came long after the traditional Dutch Masters from the 17th century, he was one of the most revolutionary Dutch painters. His work has many interesting aspects. During his working life he began with landscapes, gradually getting more into the French (post) Impressionst style and finally reaching his artistic high point with his (best known) abstract work. By this time he had left Holland and painted in Paris and his later years in New York.
For each of the artworks we've included additional detail pictures to show the quality of the materals we work with.
The 'Dutch Masters art' brand was born in the heart of the historic center of Amsterdam, on the Singel canal. Every day many holiday makers enjoy the rich culture of The Netherlands, especially in museums like the Van Gogh museum and the Rijksmuseum. Inspired by these famous canals and the rich history of the 17th century Dutch art we started our collection. We started with art from the golden age, but in later years we also added other famous pieces from later date, including van Gogh. So now you can find both baroque art as well as (post-) modernism on our website. Our collection is handpicked for best quality and are made to order with the latest reproduction techniques available today.
